Born 1902 Passed 1984. Ansel Adams was born in San Francisco he is most famous for his landscape portraits of the numerous books that had been created on this subject and from his photographs. Early in his studies Ansel Adams dropped out of school, he became a pianist as well as a photographer. He did commercial photography for many years. His work has been used for all sorts of national parks. Ansel Adams is best known for his photographs of Half dome and his brilliant black and white photography that he’d use a large scale camera for.
He won grants to do his photography of the national parks (1944--58) by the Guggenheim. He was also a major part of the Sierra Club, he was an enviormentalist as well on their board. He is best known for his revolutionary nature photography. He was a visionary and it showed in his work. Most of his images were landscapes of the west, many in Yosemite.
