Impressionism art: Degas |
|
|
Edgar Degas lived to be 83 but because of his immense interest in art, his career lasted for 60 out of those 83 years that he lived! Degas was a realist and impressionist painter and sculptor who lived from 1834 to 1917. Born Hilaire Germain Edgar Degas de Gas, Degas is of French descent. As Degas continued his career, even into his latter years, he continually sought to improve his art and delved deep into the minds of his fans. Even when his career stopped growing, Degas’ artistic vision did not. Degas’ father was a Neapolitan banker and his mother was from New Orleans. Degas was the eldest child born to the couple though he eventually had four siblings – two brothers and two sisters. His mother pampered hims during his early years but died when Degas was just 13-years-old.
