Vermeer
Jan Vermeer is from the Netherlands, from the city of Delft. His paintings are brilliant. He became extremely wealthy through banking and trade. He became famous toward the end of the 19th century.
We know very little about Vermeer, besides the fact that he paid his bills through offering his works. Some of his more famous works, Woman with a water jug, Girl with a Pearl Earring, A Little Street, a cityscape called The View of Delft or Vue De Delft in 1660. The reccent film Girl With a Pearl Earing was biographical depiction of some of his life.
